2 Guys and An Idea Berkshire Grain is located in the town of Lenox MA, best known as the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. It is here among the rich heritage of Norman Rockwell, Herman Melville, Edith Wharton, Daniel Chester French -- that we are inspired to design Natural and Organic Whole Grain Cereals and Snack Foods. Sandy and Kevin met in 1996 years, over a bowl of granola. Back then Kevin owned a granola company that supplied granola (our Cinnamon Toast Granola) to a famous New England Health and Wellness Resort. Likes so many people that try our granola Sandy was smitten from the very first spoon -- so much so that Sandy kept in touch with Kevin over the years. In 2008, Sandy and Kevin, had been discussing the obesity epidemic in the US. After some further research, Kevin and Sandy agreed to become part of the solution and create Berkshire Grain, an Organic Food Company. Vision and Goal Our vision is to not only produce great tasting, nutritionally balanced foods -- it also includes making them accessible whether in the comfort of your own home, at the office, at restaurants, schools, a day at the amusement park or traveling. What's So Special? Berkshire Grain's emphasis is the use of safe Organic Whole Grains, with low or moderate glycemic values, healthy fats, and other beneficial ingredients -- Flax and Chia Seeds. We use the phrase, "Light, Crisp and Flavorful" to best describe the experience of our whole grain cereals. While most granolas are basically rolled oats -- Berkshire Grain Granolas uses a complex variety of different ingredients. Each ingredient adds a unique Light and Crisp texture -- then the mix is delicately coated and slow roasted. This slow roasting infuses the flavor deep into the whole grains.
